01Consultation and WhatsApp enquiries
The consultation form receives your name, email address, optional phone number and city, selected area of law, and short case summary. The website sends that information by email for review and does not save the form contents in its article database. Email providers and ordinary professional records may retain the delivered message. The legal-help panel opens WhatsApp with text prepared on your device; the website does not receive or store that text. Messages sent through WhatsApp are handled by WhatsApp and may be retained in the sender's and recipient's accounts.
02Newsletter subscriptions
If you subscribe, the site stores your email address, selected legal subjects, subscription status, an unsubscribe token, and delivery records. This information is used only to send requested journal updates and manage your subscription. Every update includes an unsubscribe link.
03Reader feedback
Article feedback stores the selected assessment, optional comment, article reference, and submission date. The feedback form does not ask for a name or email address. Comments are used for editorial review and correction work.
04Limited usage records
The site creates a private daily owner report from pseudonymous browser sessions and article reads. It stores a random session token, reporting date, the first landing-page path, the referring hostname when the browser supplies one, whether the exact utm_source=chatgpt.com marker was present, and the viewed article reference. Only that yes-or-no marker is submitted; the query string is not submitted or stored. Verified OAI-SearchBot requests are kept separately as daily aggregate counts by clean path and resource type. Aggregate verification-failure reasons are also retained so silent crawler undercounting can be detected. For verification, the request address is compared in memory with OpenAI's published search-crawler ranges and then discarded. It is never placed in the analytics database. The private records do not store the full referring URL, query string, IP address, browser profile, name, email address, or public visitor count. The laws library also records limited events such as a page view, search term, document action, or related-resource click without attaching them to a visitor profile. Hosting and security providers may process ordinary technical logs to deliver and protect the service.
05Cookies and advertising
The public website does not use Google Analytics, advertising cookies, or cross-site advertising trackers. Session measurement uses a signed, first-party, HttpOnly cookie that expires after 30 minutes of inactivity. It is used only to prevent duplicate and fabricated analytics events. A browser used in the protected administration area is given an opt-out cookie so the editor's own visits and clicks are excluded even if the network address changes.
06Sharing, retention, and security
Personal information is not sold. It is shared only with providers needed for hosting, storage, email delivery, security, or where disclosure is legally required. Records are retained only while reasonably needed for the relevant enquiry, subscription, editorial purpose, professional obligation, or website security. Private session analytics, referral records, article-view records, crawler aggregates, delivery logs, and Laws Library activity records are automatically deleted after 13 months.
07Your choices
You may unsubscribe through any newsletter email. You may also request access, correction, or deletion of personal information held through this website, subject to applicable professional, evidential, and legal record-keeping obligations.
08Legal confidentiality
Sending a website enquiry does not by itself create a lawyer-client relationship. Do not send passwords or highly sensitive documents through a general form. Confidential documents should be provided only after an appropriate channel and professional engagement have been confirmed.
